We had a brilliant time at our Isle of Wight Student Summit! A total of four schools from the island attend with over 25 students being specially selected. It was brilliant to have so many students from different schools, all adding new perspectives and ideas to the Forum. A huge thank you to everyone who attended!
As part of the student forum, students work together, discuss the issues that they face in education and work collaboratively toward creating solutions. As part of the Isle of Wight Student Forum, four areas were identified in which students will be working toward creating change in their schools. These areas are combatting Mental Health, promoting the Quality of Student Learning, reducing Sexism in education and providing further support for Dyslexia, OCD and Anxiety. These are known in the Forum as Action Groups.
After such a good first summit day, we are expectant for lots of good work to come out of the action groups identified. We are sure to see lots of school improvements with students bringing about positive changes that will enhance their learning and the learning of others. We have already seen students develop the skills that will enable this to happen and we are excited to hear about the plans to make these dreams become realities.
